Dive into a miniature world by watching an amazing compilation of dioramas being made! Roman Khramov is an artist from Saint Petersburg, Russia. He creates realistic dioramas and shares tutorials and other useful information about them on his YouTube channel. It's not his main job - it's his hobby, and in order not to spend too much time on his dioramas, Roman plans his ideas and thinks about the materials he will use in advance. For his dioramas, Roman uses Penoplex, real sand and dried tree bark, epoxy resin, silicone, and other materials, both ordinary ones and those bought from a special shop. A diorama is an easy way to build an exciting scene in a small space. Usually, it represents a historical period of time or a natural scene, and it creates a lot of space for creativity! Check out this amazing compilation that will impress you with its realism! Fourth video about the Viking Art serie. Any doubt? Send me a message. Historia del Arte: https://namerethistoriadelarte.blogspot.com.es/ Land of the Art: https://www.facebook.com/landoftheart The Viking Art is developed in the Nordic countries and their areas of influence during the Viking era, between the VIII and XII centuries. It is part of the german zoomorphic style, developed from late Roman art influences, Celtic art, and motifs of the peoples of the steppes of Asia. Most of the best examples since the beginning of the Viking Age have been found in tombs, especially jewelry and weapons, while later the Viking Art is better represented in silver objects, in the development of cities, scandinavian and rune stones. Mammen Style. From end X century to beginning XI century. The name is due to discoveries in a funerary chamber in Jutland, Denmark. Appear animals in spiral forms and plant decoration. Mammen Axe: one of the most important manifestations. Appear a figure of a bird and a human face. Cunegunda chest: richly decorated in walrus ivory. Cammin chest: a replica of the dissappeared chest. Jelling Runestones: these are the runestones of Gorm the Old. They have inscriptions. Harald Blåtand Runestone: it has color, and you see a human in plant decoration. Fifth video about the Viking Art serie. Any doubt? Send me a message. Most of the best examples since the beginning of the Viking Age have been found in tombs, especially jewelry and weapons, while later the Viking Art is better represented in silver objects, in the development of cities, scandinavian and rune stones. Ringerike Style. From XI century to second half XI century. Expansion of the tradition of runestones. The name is taken from an archeological site. This style has animals, and plant decoration well definited or geometric figures that surround the animal figure of more size. Lions and birds, usually crowned. Decoration in cross-shape. Symmetry is important. Söderala Weathervane: it was a copper piece that later was goldened, probably used in the prow of a drakkar o similar ship. Well decorated with animal forms. Other two examples of these pieces are the Källunge weathervane and the Heggen weathervane. Vang Stone: it was in the exterior of the Vang Stavkirke, that was translated to Poland along with the stone. It is a blackboard irregular stone with bands, leaves and a lion. Runestone of the St. Paul Churchyard in London: it was identified as a viking sepulchre tombstone. It has a lion and a serpent fighting, with runic inscriptions in the exterior edge. It has rests of polychromy, so it was painted. Runestones of Greece: they are mostly in Sweden and they talk about travels the scandinavian people did to the roman byzantine empire. The runestones have inscriptions with words related with Greece. Varangian Runestones: these ones talk about travels to the east of Scandinavia like the current Russia or Ukraina. There are other runestones about travels to Italy but not very important. Best Viking Art website: http://viking.archeurope.info/ Music: Fehu by Wardruna Photos taken in Google images. Most of the best examples since the beginning of the Viking Age have been found in tombs, especially jewelry and weapons, while later the Viking Art is better represented in silver objects, in the development of cities, scandinavian and rune stones. Broa-Oseberg Style. From second half VIII century to half IX century. It takes the name from the tomb of a man in Broa, Gotland, Sweden, and the tomb of a woman in Oseberg, Norway. In Broa there were bronze pieces. In Oseberg was found the richest viking tomb. The woman was in a ornamented ship with funerary offerings. Animal era in ornamentation, with beasts. Oseberg Ship: a oak ship. Decorated with zoomorphic details with a post with dragon head. It had two skeletons, one to a woman of 70 years old and other of 30 years old. The identities are unknown, but there are some theories, since it can be the queen Åsa Haraldsdottir to a priestess, being the young one a person sacrified to accompany the other high rank person. There it was found also a chariot and a bed. Other decorative works: more pieces with zoomorphic and vegetal motifs. Urnes Style. From second half XI century to first half XII century. The name was taken for the decoration of Urnes stavkirke. It is a elegant and vigorous style. Thin animal figures with slender extremities, long neck and stylized head, with almond-shaped eyes. Also animals like serpents or dragons. Asymmetry. Interlaced patters in thin lines in S or 8 form. Urnes: the decoration of this stavkirke is what seems a serpents and an animal below. It is interpreted as fight between good and evil, but also the fight between the dragon Nidhogg, gnawing the roots of Yggdrasill. It has relation with the anglosaxon and celtic manuscripts, like the Gospel of Lindisfarne. Early Urnes: here are the England runestones and the Orkesta runestones. Also the Lingsberg runestones. Mid-Urnes: some moneys and wood tables. I couldn’t find any image. Late Urnes: extremely thin animals and circular drawings. Uppland runestone and Jarlabanke runestones. Urnes-romanesque: the tradition of runestone dissappeared. Golden Altar of Lisbjerg in Denmark. In which Mike delves into the theater of ancient Rome. It wasn't all gladiators and Christian-killing, you know. There was theater, too. Roman drama drew heavily on Greek drama. So heavily, in fact, that many of the stories and characters were lifted directly from Greek plays. The ultimate archery trick. Proving that Hollywood archery is not historical. It is not possible to tell the whole story about archery in a 5 minute video. so this video is definitely not the whole truth! Historic archery is a lot of different methods and much is forgotten but archery can be much more than we usually think! THE BACK QUIVER Hollywood of course did not invent the back quiver, but they spread the myth it was proper archery! Many asked why I do not use a back quiver and that is why I am showing my own experience, how bad it is in motion. There are many different historical variatoner of back quiver and they have of course been used, but presumably belt quiver was more common and some archers did not use quiver. HISTORIC ARCHERS HAD THE ARROWS RIGHT AROUND THE BOW Af course not all not all. Someone had the arrow left around the bow, but many historical archers had the arrow right around, also archers in Europe TARGET PLATES Past archers obvious used fixed targets, but not the modern round divided two dimensional. THE THREE LEVELS OF ARROW HANDLING It is obvious much more complicated, We can not know what the first archers did, some of the earliest pictures show arrows in the bow hand, but the arrow is much older than the bow so the quiver may be used and it is impossible entirely exclude that the first archer held his shafts in the draw hand. In some parts of history is progress gone in the 3 levels, but other times the opposite has happened. Some archers are gone from arrows in the draw hand to the advanced rapid fire quiver that was developed just before war archery disappeared. TRICK ARCHERY IS HISTORICAL ARCHERY Training tricks was an integral part of several historical traditions HISTORIC ARCHERS SHOT FAST There are a lot of historical descriptions of archers that shoot fast and that archers were rejected because you were not fast enough. DO I HIT EVERYHING? I use a LOT of time practicing, and every time I set out to learn a new skill, a new trick or how to handle a new type of bow or arrow, it takes a long time, with plenty of misses. When I got the idea of grabbing an arrow in flight and firing before I landed, it took me months to learn. For a long time, arrows flew everywhere! But there's no trick in the video that I haven't done many times (except for splitting the arrow in flight – after I'd done that once I finished the video). The one with hitting the blade I've only done three times, though. All that running hurt my knees. ;-) ON MY BOWS AND POWER I'm 50 years old, and have been doing archery for only ten years. I'll never be able to shoot really fast with 100 lbs+ war bows. I tried, but it just produced injuries. Had I started at age 10, it would have been a different story. ;-) Bows were not always shoot against plate armour (as at Crecy in 1346 and Agincourt in 1415). This was very much the exception. Many opponents had little or no armour at all, and Stone Age findings show that many animals were taken down by multiple shots. Also, in 1923 Saxton T Pope examined a number of historical museum bows from around the world. His conclusion was that most only had a tensile strength of 45-50 pounds. The fast shooting methods I use are described in war manuals and are intended to be performed with war bows THE CHAINMAIL TEST Around 04:22 I penetrate chainmail. The arrows had bodkin tips, and the chainmail is riveted. However, while the gambeson is thick, it's not as thick as some I've seen elsewhere. But one reason the arrows penetrate is that I sharpen not only the tip itself, but also the edges of the bodkin tip. HIT AN INCOMING ARROW! You don't have time to aim or think, but can only do it if your reactions are completely instinctive. First of all, you need to be convinced that you WILL hit it, so you can “feel” the incoming arrow and fire at it instead of just flinching away. I was also in doubt whether it was smart to show this, because I don't want anyone to get hurt trying to copy the trick. I trained for years with soft boffer arrows and spent a LONG time before I tried it even the first time. And the arrow shoot at me was not shoot with a very powerful bow, though it was definitely dangerous enough! I didn't think it was possible to split an arrow! It was a light bamboo arrow with a metal tip, and the arrow I shot back was a heavier aluminum arrow. That the arrow split was just pure luck, and I'm not certain I could repeat it without first training for a long time. FINAL WORDS Thank you for watching my videos and for reading. I will remove rude and dumb comments. I will also remove dumb “archery experts” comments. - Lars Andersen, January 2015

Second video about the Viking Art serie. Borre Style. From first half IX century to second half X century. The name is due to a funerary ship found in Borre, Norway. It developed from to Broa-Oseberg Style. Use of braid in chain, that form symmetric figures. More beasts. Hedeby bronze pendant: this is one example. Next two images are also other examples. Gosforth Cross: the great anglo-saxon cross has a rich decoration, about episodes of norse mythology. You can see the punishment of Loki, Fenris and Heimdall, and Víðarr fighting Fenris. Manx runestones of Isle of Man: the style reached the British Islands. There are lots of them, with rich decoration and inscriptions. The third that appear is called Thorwald Cross. Roman Architecture (HSAR 252) Professor Kleiner discusses domestic architecture at Herculaneum and the First and Second Styles of Roman wall painting. The lecture begins with an introduction to the history of the city of Herculaneum and what befell some of its inhabitants when they tried to escape obliteration by Vesuvius. She features three houses in Herculaneum, two of which--the Houses of the Mosaic Atrium and the Stags--are among the best examples of a residential style popular in Campania between A.D. 62 and 79. Professor Kleiner then turns to the First or Masonry Style of Roman wall painting, which seeks to replicate the built architecture of Hellenistic kings and other elite patrons by using stucco and paint to imitate a real wall faced with marble. She follows with Second Style Roman wall painting, which uses only paint to open up the wall illusionistically onto vistas and prospects of sacred shrines, city scenes, and landscapes. The lecture concludes with a discussion of the Garden Room from the Villa of Livia at Primaporta, which epitomizes the Second Style by transforming the flat wall into a panoramic window. 00:00 - Chapter 1. What is vaporwave? What is a e s t h e t i c? How do you vaporwave? I take a look at the history and origin of the internet music and art style that has become a meme. Macintosh plus album art has become iconic for the genre. Vaporwave and aesthetic stylized as a e s t h e t i c is a popular genre of music and art style here on the internet, they have merged to become one popular sub genre that people enjoy. They have influenced other areas of the internet due to their popularity. Recently people have been wondering what the genre is all about so I attempt to explain and define the elements that make up the sometimes confusing music and art. There was a lot of thought behind the style — and controversy. Become a member of the Vox Video Lab! http://bit.ly/video-lab Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO What was the deal with that monk haircut? In this episode of Vox Almanac, Phil Edwards explores the history and controversy behind the style. Known as "tonsure," the typical monk hairstyle has many variations throughout religions. The particular hairstyle worn by Christian monks has its own variations and controversies as well. Three different types of tonsure were popular: a coronal tonsure, a Pauline tonsure, and a third Celtic tonsure that came to represent the differences between the Roman Catholic and Celtic Catholic church. The winding path of this tonsure is a new way to look at the division within the religion and the unpredictable ways something like hair can represent faith. With 14 years i started to interest me in electronic-music. At the beginning i sat in my brothers room and listened to his music. When i was 15 i came in contact with a record player for the first time. Then i was infected... With 16 i buyed my first own record players an began to play Schranz and Goa. First at private partys, then, at 2011, at a small club named Lenox. After that i went to berlin and played at my colleague Lud Lemmon, then offenburg Fsg and Offenau/Heilbronn at a private party. Then my first podcast for Kaiser BPM on FNoob.com came. More often i was there and on Cuevase-fm to hear. That was the time, when i started to produce techno on my own. Since now i produce thrilled with Fruity Loops Studio, then Ac-In Records and today for Subwoofer-Records. It still makes fun as at the beginning and no one could take this from me.
