Buy from the Madfish Store: bit.ly/1szFRyX Download from iTunes: bit.ly/1g71T75 Follow on Facebook: on.fb.me/R2vjKT YouTube Channel: bit.ly/1kqdWAg In 2013 the current incarnation of Fleetwood Mac embarked on a massive world tour. Dates in North America were followed by gigs around Europe, with Australia and New Zealand planned shortly. The dates so far saw the band playing sold-out shows to huge arena crowds and created another surge of interest in this much-loved band. Boston is a 3CD set which collects live recordings from an earlier era of the band's colourful history. The set features the classic blues line-up of Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, John McVie and Jeremy Spencer. Originally recorded at the Boston Tea Party venue over three nights in February 1970, for a planned release later the same year, these recordings were left in the can, unissued, following leader Peter Green's sudden decision to leave the band a few weeks after the dates. Tracks from the shows were eventually released in various forms in the mid-80s but these releases were blighted by poor sound sources. The discovery of the original 8-track tapes and a number of previously unreleased tracks in the late 90s allowed the material to be re-mixed, re-mastered, and substantially overhauled for release on 3 separate CD volumes. This new set brings together all of these re-mastered recordings a 3CD set to present a complete document of these historic shows. The set is packaged in a clam box with a 24 page book. The booklet contains new sleevenotes and reworked artwork. Black Magic Woman by Fleetwood Mac. How to play lead guitar parts over verses 1 and 2. Learn to play in the great blues style of Peter Green From the Secret Guitar Teacher Site. Click to take a free tour: http://www.secretguitarteacher.com/youtube/ssb.php?lp_id=1433 Video script: Peter Green is one of the best blues lead guitar players to emulate for those starting out learning lead guitar. His great secret was to play very simple licks, but with exquisite feel and timing. So let's look at each lick that he played over the first couple of verses of the original Fleetwood Mac recording of this song. Over the intro we have the high sounding chord. If you are doing this in a band there's no harm in both rhythm and lead guitar playing this together. Then at the end of the first line of vocals he plays this little run...at slow tempo... Then at the end of the third line he plays this little lick... slowed down... This is best practiced nice and slow and deliberate to begin with to get the sequence of technique right and nail the timing. Then by repeatedly listening to the original lick and immediately trying to copy it you will gradually home in on the exact way of playing it. At the end of the first verse there's a lead lick played, I think by the rhythm guitar. It goes something like this...at half tempo... But if you take that on as lead guitarist you may struggle to get back in time to the intro chord as this is quite a long way for your fretting hand to travel in almost no time at all. Here's an alternative version of the same basic idea, but played an octave higher. Up to you which one of those you opt for. At the end of the first line of the second verse he plays this lick ...at half tempo... And he plays this nice simple follow-up at the end of the next line which I think he uses a touch of palm muting on. He then adds this three-note Dm chord at the start of the next bar. Followed by this little hammer-on from fret 10 to 13 on the second string. And finally this little run at the end of the line. Finally, here's a quick of me playing all these licks along with the record so you can see and hear how they all fit in. I 'll leave you to work on those licks and next week we'll take a look at the solo from this song.

Don't turn your back on me, baby. Yes, don't turn your back on me, baby, Don't mess around with your tricks; Don't turn your back on me, baby, 'cause you might just wake up my magic sticks. Black Magic Woman for beginners guitar

12:16
Black Magic Woman rhythm guitar part. Arranged for beginners guitar. Fleetwood mac version by Peter Green. From the Secret Guitar Teacher Site. Take a free tour: http://secretguitarteacher.com/youtube/ssb.php?lp_id=1409 Video script: Written by Peter Green, the song Black Magic Woman was a minor hit for Fleetwood Mac in 1968 before being covered a couple of years later, commercially much more successfully, by Santana. Today I am going to go over the chords of the original fleetwood mac version, on the basis that once you have learned these, you will have no difficulty with playing the Santana version, which has a slightly simplified chord sequence. As this is a Beginners lesson I am going to show you the easiest options for the chord shapes. But for intermediate players I have included some alternative shapes on the printout that you can access from the link beneath the video screen. The song intro is a single strum on a very high voicing of the D minor chord played on the top three strings right up at fret 17. If performing this on your own, count yourself in, then strum the chord and let it ring 1234 strum. As it rings keep counting 1 2 3 4 1.. Then start singing after the first beat of bar 2. While you are doing all that make sure your eyes travel back down to the first fret ... so that you are ready to move your hand down and finger the Dm as soon as the opening chord has faded. So here's that whole intro played slowly ...and at full tempo. So that's the first of two slightly tricky bits out of the way. We then keep that Dm going for two bars establishing this basic strumming pattern down down-drag up down down. Then we change to Am for two bars keeping the same strumming pattern going nice and smoothly. Then back to Dm again for two bars...before changing to Gm. Here's a simply four string version of Gm you can use. This is then changed to Gm7 after just one bar. Again for beginners I am recommending this simple 4-string version. Let's just run through what we have got so far at half tempo...and at more or less full speed. Now here's the other tricky bit. It's tricky because these are slightly unusual chord shapes that you may not be used to and because it changes every two beats like this. So that is Dm just hit once for now and then change to C . Hit that once then grab this Bb shape note that this is just on three strings. Normally we like to hear more than just three strings ringing, but as the chord is so fleeting you won't notice that we are only using three strings. Notice the special fingering I recommend - second finger on the D string and the 3rd finger holding down both the G and B strings this 3rd finger also does a good job of muting out the top string which we definitely don't want to sound on a Bb chord. Using this particular fingering for Bb will assist the next change which is to the A7. Then back to Dm. So that tricky, quick bit again ...at half tempo... and at full tempo. Finally the Dm is played for one bar then held from the first beat of the next bar like this. This creates the rhythmic space for the intro to be played again as a way to launch into verse two. After verse two there is a 2-verse solo played over the same sequence as the verse and then we are back into the third verse via the same intro. After that the track plays out over a bass groove that stays on the Dm chord. So that's the rhythm part to the song. The chart and chord diagrams are available from the link below the video screen and as mentioned that includes the barre chord options for more experienced players. In the next lesson we'll take a look at some of Peter Green's great lead guitar licks used on this version of the song.

http://www.dbtribute.org Going 'deep' with the Crown Prince's version of Santana's cult classic - "Black Magic Woman". Although, to be accurate, this track originally belongs to Fleetwood Mac who recorded it in 1968. Can you believe that Dennis was just a young teenager when he recorded this in 1972??? Wow!.... for a youth who should know nothing about romantic love at that age...he sure did sing like he knew what it was like to be spellbound and captured. I had the pleasure of seeing Dennis Brown perform what was sadly his last stage performance in the UK...so I give thanks that I got to see him perform before he passed over to the Father. Love you Dennis....

Santana - Black Magic Woman - 8/18/1970 - Tanglewood (Official)

05:42
Santana - Black Magic Woman Recorded Live: 8/18/1970 - Tanglewood - Lenox, MA More Santana at Music Vault: http://www.musicvault.com Subscribe to Music Vault on YouTube: http://goo.gl/DUzpUF Personnel: Carlos Santana - guitar, vocals Gregg Rolie - keyboards, piano, lead vocals David Brown - bass Michael Shrieve - drums Jose "Chepito" Areas - percussion, conga, timbales Mike Carabello - percussion, conga, vocals Summary: Recorded just over a year after Santana played its historic Woodstock Music & Art Fair performance, the band was fast becoming one of the biggest in the world. They were about to release their second album, Abraxas, and were riding high on the heels of three hit songs from their debut album and a new Top 10 hit, a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Black Magic Woman." A year earlier - in fact only a few days before the Woodstock Festival - Bill Graham staged the first of several concerts billed as "The Fillmore at Tanglewood." Tanglewood is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the storied venue had just begun to experiment with staging contemporary concerts on their grounds. Staging a rock concert in a classical venue had yet to be done, so of course the concept of doing so excited Graham. He brought the full-scale Fillmore East production team in, including the Joshua Light Show, and booked a great lineup. This first concert featured B.B King, Jefferson Airplane and The Who, and drew the largest crowd that Tanglewood had ever seen by far. Buoyed by the event's success, Tanglewood and Graham agreed to stage three similar dates in 1970. The last of these is this show, when Santana headlined after The Voices of East Harlem and the legendary Miles Davis had played (you can hear Mile's set here). This historic and beautifully recorded performance features a smoking performance by Santana in the last year of their classic lineup, before a young Neal Schon joined the band. We think you'll agree it's an incredible performance by a great band in their prime.

Black Magic Woman Solo

16:04
Black Magic Woman by Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green's Solo taught lick by lick for beginners to play. From the Secret Guitar Teacher Site : Click for a free tour: http://secretguitarteacher.com/youtube/ssb.php?lp_id=1445 Video Script: As a beginner lead guitarist listening to this solo you might be tempted to write it off as too difficult to learn. And to be honest if you attempt to learn it all at once you will probably struggle. However, if we break it up into separate licks and drill each lick with the correct timing before attempting to put it all together at full tempo, learning to play this solo is a fantastic way to get a feel for how to phrase and time blues licks. So here's lick one one. Once you have got the fingering and sequence of notes I suggest playing it 20 to 30 times over until you have nailed the timing really notice where the rhythmic accent falls. Next, well ahead of time you need to jump up to this position at fret 15 to play this lick... And again spend some time repeating that until you are sure of its exact timing. The next four notes are fast...and again, I recommend playing this over and over until you have nailed the timing. At this stage I think it is worth putting those first two lines together. The solo starts immediately after the drum beat that follows the intro chord and the second line comes in on the second beat of the third bar ... Okay, so after playing that 20 times through move on to the next phrase. This is followed by this phrase. So far so good, but now things get a little more technical. This is another good point to stop and consolidate so let's review what we have covered so far. At slow tempo... ...and at more or less full tempo. Ok, assuming you have practiced that a couple of dozen times at least. here's what comes next. Melodically speaking, that lick took us up...the next one takes us back down... This one kind of checks at the same melodic level.. Then it's up to the top strings for the next bit... And I think that's another good point to stop and consolidate. First go back over those last licks a few times. Then knit them in with the rest of the solo so far. Slowly ...and then at full tempo. Ok now into the final strait for this lesson. Nice and easy, but now here's another technical bit. This is very similar to the lick we oplayed in the seventh bar, but this time it is followed by...and we finish this solo verse with this jump down to the bottom strings. So that last line all together. Slow ...and full tempo. And now the whole f the whole solo at half tempo. nd finally for this lesson here it is at full speed played along to the record. I'll leave you to practice that for now. In the next lesson in this series we'll complete the solo by showing you the second verse of it.
