Paul Gurvitz created the group Three Man Army, then The Baker Gurvitz Army, then The Graeme Edge Band, became a producer ... Rick Wills, Micky Gallagher and Mike Kellie played together in Peter Frampton's Camel. Then Rick Wills worked in Roxy Music, The Small Faces, Foreigner, Bad Company ... Drew Hamley & Unit 15 Productions was an obvious choice. We've already worked with him on several projects & he always delivers amazing quality videos. And I hope that I can dream again, and awake to begin again Staring at the sun I wonder if I'm going blind Staring at the stars and I'm leaving this behind, behind So shine for me, I'm coming home Collide with me, I'm moving slowly Into place, I feel the change So wait for me, I'm coming home *** Check out the BlankTV official website: http://BlankTV.com Check out the new merch! http://blanktv.bigcartel.com/ Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/blanktv Like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/BlankTV

The Prog God Award, presented by Orange Amplification, is given to the greatest innovators in the genre. Rick Wakeman, Ian Anderson and Peter Gabriel are the previous recipients. Banks says: “I’m not normally picked out for this recognition – in fact, I’ve spent my entire career trying not to be noticed. Now someone has seen through my clever disguise. “I’m really gratified to get this award. It’s nice to know people appreciate the music I’ve helped create.” He adds: “Being in such rarified company is also something I’m delighted about – Rick, Ian and Peter are probably the first people you think of when you mention the bands they’re most associated with. “But I see myself as representing the backroom boys of prog, who are often overlooked.” Prog editor Jerry Ewing says: “Classic rock and heavy metal have the guitarist, but for progressive music the keyboard player often fulfils the role of hero – and none come more heroic than Tony Banks. “His keyboards have always been the bedrock of the Genesis sound. His solo career too has displayed a fine combination for his sense of pomp and grandiosity on the one hand, and delicate musical turn of phrase on the other. “I can't think of a more fitting recipient of the Prog God Award.” Late Yes bassist Chris Squire will also be honoured at the gala night as the Virtuoso Award has been renamed in his memory. Orange Amplification presents the Progressive Music Awards in association with currencies.co.uk on September 3, in the Underglobe at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London. Asia - Omega (Full Album + Bonus Tracks)

01:07:01
Omega is the twelfth studio album by British progressive rock band Asia, released in Europe on 23 April 2010 by Frontiers Records. It is the second to feature all four original members (Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer and John Wetton) after the reunion in 2006. "Finger on the Trigger" was previously recorded by Wetton and Downes's side band Icon for their second studio album. John Wetton explained the album title: "The title 'Omega', as any fan of the band will tell you, is 'very Asia' (as is the album, by the way). It no more means 'final' than 'Alpha' means 'the first' (which it wasn't). It's a great sounding/looking word, and a bookend to 'Alpha'. In many ways, musically and conceptually, the two albums share commonality".[3] As with many of Asia's releases, the cover artwork was created by Roger Dean. The white tiger on the front cover indicates that 2010 is the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese calendar. The tiger face also resembles the emblem of a former publishing company named Paper Tiger Books in which Roger Dean was involved in the 1970s. Omega was named as the seventh-best album of 2010 by Classic Rock Presents... Lunatic Soul II album teaser

01:31
II is the second solo album from Mariusz Duda, the lead singer and creative force behind the post-progressive band Riverside. The album follows on from the original Lunatic Soul album, which was released on Kscope to critical acclaim in 2008, and Duda has described the project as 'a double album divided into two single ones by the period of two years' anticipation.' "There is a little fear that the listeners, seeing a white cover with the characteristic sign and logo 'lunatic soul' but without any '2' or 'II,' will think that it is a kind of re-release of the first album," says the author of Lunatic Soul. "That's why I'd like to highlight that it's going to be entirely new material, and the cover looks as it looks because since the beginning it was supposed to be a black and white diptych. Lunatic Soul is simply a double album divided into two single ones by the period of two years' anticipation. And now there comes the time for it's second and last part. "It's still a story about the journey through the afterworld, and more specifically about a journey through a certain place that exists somewhere in-between. White doesn't refer here to a literal return to life. The protagonist will still remain on the other side. White doesn't mean that instead of dark sounds we'll hear happy songs and nightingales singing, either. It will still be very characteristic, trans-like, and (as I like to call it) oriental-alternative musical journey. In many places maybe even a little more oriental and maybe more unsetting. For instance, in one of the songs the protagonist will find himself surrounded by four white naked walls, dressed in... a straight jacket. Of course I wanted to create a lot of "light" sounds, a certain kind of lightness, on this album. And I admit that in many moments—with the help of Robert and Magda—I've accomplished exactly what I was dreaming of. It will surely still be a blend of everything I like, from Dead Can Dance, Peter Gabriel from IV or Passion , through films and books about ghosts, up to my favourite Silent Hill, yet I can already hear that the second album, despite the continuation, will sound differently. I hope, though, that the sounds on it will not leave the majority of the lunatic souls indifferent." The majority of the instrumental parts are played by Mariusz Duda himself. However, the guest musicians appear this time as well, for instance already known from the previous album Maciej Szelenbaum (keyboards, flutes, quzheng) or Wawrzyniec Dramowicz from Indukti (drums). The project started with one song, “Missing," which Jasun had written. He played the track for Troy, who has not been able to play bass for several years now due to a serious arm injury, and immediately expressed his desire to write and perform vocals for the material. As more new material was created, Jasun reached out to drummer Marco Bicca and bassist Brian Hart to forge a very talented rhythm section, and the lineup was complete. The four members then headed to the studio and self-tracked what would become their debut album. Prior to forming A DYING PLANET, the Tipton brothers were the driving force to prog metal powerhouse Zero Hour, releasing five albums, including the landmark 2001 epic, The Towers Of Avarice. Michael Rensen of Germany's Rock Hard magazine proclaimed, "Zero Hour is one of the five Best Progressive Newcomers in the late '90s!" This and other accolades landed Zero Hour gigs alongside such notable bands as Opeth, Cynic, Symphony X, All That Remains, The Human Abstract, and Liquid Tension Experiment, in addition to multiple successful European tours and three appearances at America's premier progressive metal festival, ProgPower USA. The Tipton brothers have also been guest columnists on the popular guitar enthusiast website Chops From Hell and have released two instructional videos. The Tiptons also had success with the technical instrumental band Abnormal Thought Patterns and progressive metal act Cynthesis. Abnormal Thought Patterns released three albums including two for Lifeforce Records which received glowing reviews and coverage with Metal Hammer, Legacy, Decibel, and other magazines. Their third release featured the epic collaboration for the track “Nocturnal Haven” featuring Tommy Rogers on vocals (Between The Buried And Me) and intro guitar solo by Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy). Stomu Yamashta Go Live in Paris 1978 Experimental, Prog Rock UK 1976 1977

01:03:27
Stomu Yamashta - Go Live in Paris (1978) Experimental, Prog Rock (UK 1976-1977) . Stomu Yamashta was born in 1947 in Kyoto Japan, with the name Yamashita Tsutomu. Since the late 60's he has developed an international reputation as a composer and performer (percussion, keyboards) of serious music, jazz rock fusion, rock, electronica as well as multi-media projects for the theatre, a ballet score ("Shukumei" ) and cinematic soundtracks. He has toured and played with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra and the rock group Come to The Edge. Yamashta has recorded not only jazz rock fusion and rock but music by the serious modern composers Maxwell-Davis and Henze. He came to Europe in the early 70's working briefly in France on theatrical multi-media projects (e.g. the precursor for "Red Buddah Theatre" and "The Man From The East") before moving across the Channel to England. Through the 70's Yamashta recorded the majority of his 70's albums in the UK but alas very few of the Island Records recordings have been issued on CD. He has composed the soundtracks of the David Bowie film "The Man Who Fell to Earth" (which borrowed significantly from earlier recordings), Ken Russell's "The Devils", and race car documentary "One By One". However, Stomu Yamashta is probably best known nowadays as the leader of the supergroup GO with Stevie Winwood, Al Di Meola, Klaus Schulze and Michael Shrieve for three albums and related performances. What first attracted me to these albums was Al Di Meola's involvment, as I am a huge fan of this legendary guitarist and jazz rock in general. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard their first selftitled album and realised that there was more to Go than just the brillant guitar work from Di Meola. The primary difference when comparing the live performance at Paris and the rendering simply titled Go (1976) is that Go Live From Paris (1978) presents the proceedings (as they exist) in a properly linear fashion, as correlated to the Eastern mythology that informed the extended two-part suite. This is in direct contrast to Go, which assembled the contents out of sequence. The stage show was recorded at the Palais Des Sports in Paris, France on June 12, 1976 and the recital setting allows for considerably longer and more exploratory interaction amongst Stomu Yamashta (percussion/piano), Steve Winwood (vocals/keyboards) and (drums). They are joined by legendary jazz axeman Michael Shrieve, Al DiMeola (guitar) as well as Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel veteran Klaus Schulze (synthesizer) -- all of whom had contributed to Go. Filling out the band are Jerome Rimson (bass), Pat Thrall (guitar), Brother James (congas) and Karen Friedman (vocals). Specifically, the licks traded between DiMeola and Shrieve are comparable to the workouts the pair shared as part of the Borboletta (1974) era Santana. In terms of sheer intensity, it is hard to beat Di Meola's searing leads and Winwood's blue-eyed soul on the driving "Ghost Machine," easily topping its former incarnation. "Surfspin" lands into the funky mid-tempo "Time Is Here" highlighted by Karen Friedman's expressive exchanges with Winwood, while Rimson punctuates the rhythm with some penetrating bass interjections. This is followed by the sole Winwood composition "Winner/Loser," which further exemplifies how the spontaneity of the concert yields results that best their predecessors. . In fact, on the whole the material on Go sounds like a blueprint for the exceptional and inspired outing found here. The second movement commences with fairly even renditions of the trifecta "Solitude," "Nature" and "Air Voice" -- which had previously been given the name "Air Over." "Crossing the Line" is an additional zenith, spotlighted by Winwood's emotive vocals and the untamed and otherwise incendiary frenzy of fretwork courtesy of Di Meola. Clocking in just shy of 15mins, "Man of Leo" provides another opportunity for the players to loosen up and fuse their collective improvisations behind Di Meola's intense soloing and the similarly seminal instrumental offerings from Shrieve, Rimson -- who is at his most melodic -- and Freidman's haunting warbles (Extract from spinatosmusicpills.blogspot.com) Track Listing 01 - Space song 0:00 02 - Carnival 2:29 03 - Wind spin 3:49 04 - Ghost machine 12:08 05 - Surf spin 15:55 06 - Time is here 17:27 07 - Winner Looser 25:07 08 - Solitude 30:17 09 - Nature 32:12 10 - Air voice 35:39 11 - Crossing the line 36:37 12 - Man of Leo 44:26 13 - Stellar 58:46 14 - Space Requiem 1:00:11 . Guitarist Jasun Tipton states of the “Missing” single, “The idea came together while playing a melody on the piano. I told Troy maybe write about how hard it is to deal with a loss of a loved one. We all can relate to Missing a friend or a loved one. I said I can’t even imagine how parents deal with a loss of a child or if their child had all of the sudden gone missing. Troy said, ‘No need to say anymore as I know what Exactly what to do.’ He asked me to play the melody again and the first lyric he sang was, ‘I’m trying hard to cope but I’m losing my faith.’ The melodies just flowed out of Troy’s voice hitting all the right places with emotion. Marco and Brian did an amazing job excelling the song and Bill Jenkins added his amazing touch with the Rhodes tones.” See A DYING PLANET’s “Missing” video via Progspace at THIS LOCATION. Magenta : Lucky Man (2010)

Magenta release download single of the ELP Classic "Lucky Man" December 5th Magenta is very excited to announce the release of their version of the wonderful Emerson, Lake and Palmer song "Lucky Man" as a download-only single. The song will be available exclusively from the band's Bandcamp site at http://magenta.bandcamp.com from December 5th. The Magenta version will be available in 3 mixes priced at £1 each - an original mix, an extended version and an instrumental version. It was originally slated to appear on the Classic Rock Presents Prog ELP tribute CD, compiled to tie in with ELPs triumphant appearance at the High Voltage Festival during the summer, but failed to appear following the unfortunate last minute cancellation of the project. Magenta multi-instrumentalist Rob Reed takes up the story: "We have given the song the full-on Magenta treatment, and we hope the fans -- whether ours or ELPs -- will enjoy what we have done with it. We all certainly felt it was too good to be left on the shelf. Our arrangement also has a Christmassy feel to it, so it seemed right to issue it in December." The band has also shot a video to go with the track, which will be available from December 5th on Youtube or on the Magenta website at www.magenta-web.com
