Still, we know plenty of marketers are a little confused on the distinction, so let’s review: Brand Strategy: A brand strategy is the blueprint for how you build and grow your brand. It encapsulates and articulates who you are, why you exist, what you do, and how you communicate. It’s the foundation of your business. (For a deeper dive, here’s more on what it is, what it includes, and how to create one.) Content Strategy: A content strategy is a way to execute your brand strategy; a tool to communicate who your brand is and what you’re about—through content. (See our step-by-step guide to create and document your content strategy if you don’t have one yet.) Unfortunately, in many organizations, there is a disconnect between content strategy and brand strategy—assuming there’s a documented content strategy at all. (Only 37% of marketers have one, according to the Content Marketing Institute’s 2018 B2B Benchmarks report.) ​ How to Align Your Content Strategy with Your Brand To build a healthy brand, you need to work with intention. Everything from your values to your voice affects how you do business—and, most importantly, how you’re perceived. A misaligned content strategy not only dilutes but actually damages your brand. So how do you make sure your content strategy is anchored to your core brand strategy? Here are 6 ways to do it. 1) Use Brand Stories Your brand strategy should include messaging architecture that gives you a blueprint for how to communicate your brand identity. It’s how you talk about your products/services, your people, and your business, whether it’s on your site or in your Twitter bio. That messaging architecture should include your positioning, value prop, tagline, and supporting brand stories.

Should I run no content book ads? That’s one of the most frequently asked questions I get. Well in today’s video I’m going to help you answer are ads right for your book. So stick around. First, there are numerous ways to run ads to your books. There are facebook ads, Instagram ads, book promotion sites, Amazon ads, etc. For the sake of this video, I’m going to focus on running amazon ads to your books as people are already there to buy and you can set your amazon ad budget as low as $1 a day. There are no guarantees when it comes to running amazon ads to your books. But I’m going to try and better your chances of amazon ad success with these 4 book advertising questions. While I may use the examples of publishing no content books, these 4 book advertising questions really pertain to any book type. 1. Is your book Worth Advertising? Do you have a quality book that people are going to want to buy? Will putting more eyes on your book better the chances of you getting sales? Lately, a lot of people have been publishing a lot of no content books, focusing on quantity of no content books over quality. We’re not worried about whether your baby is pretty enough to win a beauty pageant, but will she at least get some votes? If the answer is No, then move on to the next book. If the answer is yes, then we’ll move on to the next question. 2. Is your book ready for advertising? There are 3 key elements that sell your book. The cover, the description and the price. Does your cover sell your book? Does the description pop off the page with html and drive the reader to want to buy the book? And does your price entice them to buy? Not too high that it seems unreasonably priced but not so low that they question the quality. If the answer is yes, then ask yourself 3. Can you afford to advertise? While Amazon advertising budgets can be as low as $1 a day and you can pause them at any time, there are still no guarantees. You need to make sure you can afford to lose some money before your ads start to pick up. Now there are definitely Amazon Advertising tips that will better your chances for sales, but you need to make sure you are budgeting wisely. Even if your amazon ads do really well, you should know that Amazon Ads will take out your ad spend fairly quickly(usually at the end of the month) while KDP waits about 60 days before you get your kdp book royalties. 4. Do you know how to run Amazon ads? Now, if your answer to this is no, that’s not a deal breaker. While there are many Amazon advertising courses that you can pay for that are well worth the investment. One that I highly recommend is the AMS Profit Formula Course., So, are ads right for your book? If you answered yes to the 4 book advertising questions. Is your book worth advertising? Here are 3 SEO strategies that will boost your rankings! #1: Focus on content Google has this update called Hummingbird, and with Hummingbird, websites who just have content on everything won't do as well as sites which focus on one single niche and are super thorough. You want to be VERY thorough with your SEO content. Poke holes in your content and fill them all up, so then that way people are like, "This is the end all site "that you should end up reading "if you're interested in dating online." #2: Optimize your title tag and your meta description Have you ever done a Google search, and noticed that every time you do it, there is this link at the top, and then there's this one sentence with a link at the top is called the title tag. And the description below is called the meta description. Now think of it this way, if you search for the phrase online dating, and you don't see the word online dating in neither the title or the description, are you going to click on the result? Well if you are, there's something wrong, because why would you click on a result that isn't related to what you're looking for? In addition to that, have you ever searched for a term like online dating? And have you ever noticed that the word isn't in the title or description? That's because Google tracks who's clicking on what listing, and they've learned that when a keyword is in the listing, that same keyword that you're searching for, they know you're way more likely to click through. So in your title tag and your meta description, make sure you include the keyword. But you can't just add the keyword, "online dating," right? The easiest way and what I would do and I wish it was this simple; I will just put "online dating, online dating, online dating, online dating." If I could put it 20 times so people would know that the article is on online dating, I wish I would get more clicks. But it's not that simple. Yes you have to include the keyword in your title and your description, but it has to be appealing. If it doesn't flow in a sentence, it's not easy to read, and it's not appealing or evoking curiosity, no one is gonna click through. #3: Use Google Search Console Did you know that Google gives you a tool that teaches you how to rank number one on Google? Yes I know that sounds ridiculous but it is true, and it's called Google Search Console. If you're not already a user of it, sign up. It doesn't cost a dollar. You're missing out if you're not using it. I can't emphasize that enough. So now that you're using Google Search Console...give it a few days because it takes some time to populate data. You'll see a screen that shows Search Analytics and this shows you all the pages on your website that are getting you traffic. But the cool thing about Google Search Console is they also show you which articles are getting impressions. Take all the keywords you're getting impressions for and start adding them to your copy. Now we have an article on Instagram, and it teaches you how to get over 300 targeted Instagram followers per day. The article is around 10,000 words. When I first wrote that article, it wasn't 10,000 words, it was roughly 2,500. I went to Google Search Console, I saw all the people that are searching for terms related to the article, I added them within that article. I made it more thorough and you know what? My SEO traffic more than tripled to that article. Yes it is that simple. And when I made that change, it didn't happen right away, but I noticed the results within 50 days. That's not a long time. There are new reports each month spotlighting different aspects of business, human relationships, families, and so on. Including hard data is an indispensible way to show that your ideas have relevance to your readers’ lives. It backs up your opinions with facts and supports your point of view. The second way is to interview another expert in your field or in a complementary field who can add another perspective that supports your message. This establishes credibility with your readers.
