Using Image Styles in Node Display in Drupal 7

05:49
Discover hundreds more Drupal tutorial videos at Drupalize.Me/Videos. I am going to show you how you can upload an image of any size and it will automatically display as the size/style that you designate by editing the display field settings for your content type. We are going to add an image field to the basic page content type and set the node display to use medium size of 220 wide by 220 tall. Being able to set a standard for image display creates consistency and a better user experience. Site builders and content administrators will also have less work because you don't need to cut all of you images before you upload them. Drupal does all the work for you!!

Display Responsive Images Using Client-side Adaptive Image Module

03:27
By: Ivan Zugec http://webwash.net | http://twitter.com/webwashnet Modules: - Client-side adaptive image(https://drupal.org/project/cs_adaptive_image) (7.x-1.0) Transcript: The Client-side adaptive image module allows you to display responsive images from a field formatter. The module resizes images via JavaScript on the client-side, hence the name. This module is relatively easy to setup, there are no dependencies and you don't have to modify the .htaccess file. To setup just select the "Adaptive image" formatter from the manage display page, define your breakpoints and you're done. Installing the module is pretty simple. Just download Client-side adaptive image and install the module. Throughout this video I'll use Omega as the responsive theme. Avoid using the default Bartik theme as it's not responsive. The module ships with a custom field formatter called "Adaptive image" for the image field. All we have to do is configure this formatter, define breakpoints and image styles and we are done. So go to Structure, "Content types" and click on "manage display" within the Article row. Select "Adaptive image" from the Format drop-down list and click on Save. Click on the cog wheel. And here we need to define specific breakpoints and image styles. The breakpoint widths may vary depending on the defined breakpoints within your responsive theme. You'll have to experiment with different widths to get the right results. For this video, I'll set the following options. Four hundred and thumbnail. Eight hundred and medium. twelve hundred and large. When the browser window is less than four hundred pixels, it'll display the thumbnail image. Then, when the the browser window is less than eight hundred pixels, it'll display the medium image. And finally, set the Maximum option to large. Save the formatter settings by clicking on Update, and click on Save. Go to Content, "Add content" and Article. Enter in a title and upload an image. Now, if I resize the browser, you can see the large, medium and thumbnail size. By default the module allows you to define five breakpoints. But if you need more than five, you can add extra breakpoints by going to the module's configuration page. Go to Configuration, "Adaptive images". Change the value in the "Number of breakpoints" and click on Save configuration. Now if we go back to Structure, "Content types" and "manage display". Click on the cog wheel and you'll see that we have 10 breakpoint options.

Artist: http://incompetech.com/ Insert Module: Insert is a utility that makes inserting images and links to files into text areas or WYSIWYGs much easier by adding a simple JavaScript-based button to file and image fields. Images may be inserted using any image style preset. CKEditor: The contributed CKEditor module replaces plain textarea fields with CKEditor, a visual HTML editor, sometimes called WYSIWYG editor. It's a very fast HTML editor that runs in a browser and doesn't require any kind of installation on the client computer.

Drupal Bootstrap - 21 - Creating Article Views - Table Layout

07:40
IMPORTANT NOTE for this video: If you encounter the same issue to display your images, try the following steps. Playlist: https://goo.gl/47TkI6 Approach A: ------------------- 1) Go to "Appearance" -} open your Bootstrap Sub theme 2) Under "Bootstrap Settings" -} "General" tab -} "Images" 3) Set the "Default image shape" to "None" and unchecked the "Responsive Images". Look here: https://goo.gl/tHVDhb The Bootstrap in the video is an old version 3.0 and the latest version by now already have a function where you can turn on to make your images responsive. Thus, the css class - "img-responsive" are added to your images automatically. If you turn this function off, this css class will be removed and should be displaying the original dimension as it is. Personally I prefer to turn it off and only add this class manually whenever I need. Approach B: ------------------- Alternatively, you can also override and reset the "max-width" css value that make the image responsive to it's default value like this, e.g. (depend on your css classes you use...) .page-article-table .dImage img { max-width: none !important; } Try to narrow down and only target a particular page so that it won't affect other Views but only this Views page with table layout.

Drupal 8 Theming - Part 06 - Theming the Header

In this episode of Drupal 8 Theming tutorial series we are going to theme our header the 'Drupal way', by using blocks, css, html and Twig. Also we are going to learn how to define our front page so that we don't use the same template as we would use on other content types. This way our front page will be able to have different type of design. As for the header we are going to style a block that displays the header, add some css to it and I will show you how to change the path of your logo. By doing all of this we will get better acquainted with Twigs template hints, and will learn where the stuff on our page is coming from. Drupal 7 Superfish: An easy way to get dropdown menus Daily Dose of Drupal Episode 191: https://codekarate.com/daily-dose-of-drupal/drupal-7-superfish-easy-way-get-dropdown-menus Just like your grandparents, the Superfish menu module is an oldy but a goodie. Since 2010, Superfish has been helping site owners implement the infamous dropdown menu. Over the years Superfish has been improved to include various features for touch screens, and responsive needs. Once you have the Superfish module installed (don't forget the Superfish Library) you are able to assign various existing menus to use the functionality. Superfish by default will created 4 blocks (this is configurable) that you can simply assign to a menu. Once assigned and some minor configuration you are able to drop this block into the flow of the website. Like any block, there are numerous visibility and configuration options to get you to your perfect look. Neat! NOTE: Make sure to watch the video as I will describe which version of the Superfish library to use! Hint: It isn't the production library.
