40 Best Outfits From Tokyo Street Fashion

02:45
When you think of or talk about Japan, the general picture that comes to mind is of the past when the women wore their colorful silk kimonos and narrow, long skirts that made them stride slowly and gave them a natural modesty. However, that is something that can relegate strictly to the past since the fashions there are no longer the same, especially when you consider the fashions in a city like Tokyo. That is why, if you are thinking in terms of original and awesome oriental prints to wear to an advantage to be like the people in Tokyo, then you are not on the right track but it is a great idea nevertheless. We are saying this fashion has a new look in Tokyo. To do as the women and girls in Tokyo, are doing in terms of fashion, you will need to know all about patterns so that you can get the mix right. As you may be aware, the girls and women are blessed with ivory complexions, dark straight hair, high cheekbones, slanted black eyes and really petite builds. Which means that anything they wear will make them look really cute and feminine. But if you look at the fashions of Tokyo today, you will realize that they have worked really hard to break this stereotype to look more edgy but without losing any of their petite charms. Yes, it does sound like a big deal and believe us it is. Because they have really veered away from their usual look and come up with something so distinctive, that one cannot help but be astounded by this. But before you jump into this surprisingly addictive way of looking at fashions, we suggest that you delve deeper into trendy and obsessive geometric print outfits for this year. At this point, this may astound you, but you will understand what we mean in a while. Because difficult as it may seem, we are going to look at Tokyo fashions, and try to decipher the main elements of these fashion trends. We may not be able to cover everything, but we will try and decipher the main elements. We are sure that with these tips and hints and armed with the images we have given here; you can come up with your own versions of the Tokyo street fashion looks. Made the most of their petite frame: Having a slender and petite frame can be a big blessing as it provides a good frame for most clothing. They have done away with the need to conceal their legs and gone with short outfits that draws our eyes to their lovely legs. But not all their outfits are short as some of them are long and wacky. You will also notice that despite their relatively lesser height than westerners or people from other parts of the world, they do have long legs. Edgy and bright: They have gone with colors that are edgy and bright to make a point. Their makeup is no longer of the type that is subtle and hardly there. The Tokyo fashion looks do not shy away from bright pinks, blues and greens in clothing as well as makeup. What is more, they have also gone for the edgy look by adding oddly matching but also conflicting layers to their clothing. If you take a careful look, you will find that Tokyo fashion covers everything from top to toe and that is why they have really chunky and colorful shoes as well. Music by Dan-O at DanoSongs.com

Japanese Street Fashion - Shoshi, Harajuku

06:15
Meet Shoshi, a well-known Japanese street style icon and aspiring select shop owner. Shoshi's life was changed forever after discovering a passion for fashion on the streets of Harajuku. "Our Streets, My Style" is our original show taking you up close and personal with Japanese street style personalities. Meet the amazing people featured in the daily street snaps Tokyo Fashion has been publishing for over a decade. Shoshi on Instagram and Twitter: https://instagram.com/we_can_do_anything/ https://twitter.com/_BABYSLUT_ We first met Shoshi (aka Shoushi or Shoshipoyo) on the streets of Harajuku over five years ago. At that time, Shoshi - who prefers the pronoun they/them - was a Japanese high school student trying out different styles to find out who they were. In addition to their love of fashion, Shoshi was (and is) passionate about music. Shoshi counts Brooke Candy and Lady Gaga as two artists who've inspired them. Over the years, we watched Shoshi's style and interests evolve. After graduating from high school and enrolling in Tokyo's most famous Fashion School, Bunka Fashion College, their unique style and personality began inspiring a younger generation of Harajuku kids, establishing Shoshi as an icon of the Japanese street fashion scene. Recent years have seen Shoshi travel to Europe and America, collaborate with international creatives, work at one of Tokyo's most influential boutiques (Dog Harajuku), graduate from Bunka Fashion College, and flirt with the launch of their own online select shop. Shoshi's future plans are far from clear, as Shoshi is always in motion and full of dreams and ambitions. What is clear is that wherever Shoshi goes from here, their time spent on the streets of Harajuku changed their life forever - for the better. Follow Shoshi on Instagram if you'd like to keep up with their adventures. You can also ask them questions directly via their social media linked above. Please leave comments in the YouTube comments if you have suggestions for future episodes of this show. Thank you for watching and for supporting Japanese street style. Japan Fashion Haul! Spent all my $$ on vintage & street wear

14:19
Here's what I bought in Japan! The street style over there is my absolute dream so I went a bit crazy shopping in Harajuku, Tokyo, Shibuya & Osaka. Subscribe for more - http://bit.ly/1vNpDRe FOLLOW ME ON INSTA - @StealTheSpotlight Some of my top places for shopping were; In Osaka: Hep5 - This was like a better version of Shibuya 109 imo (at least if you're more into mens/streetwear) There's also cafe's and non clothing stores like a Disney and Jump shop. + there's a ferris wheel on top of the building which was awesome to look over Osaka at night. Orange Street - This street was amazing for vintage shopping!! Make sure you pay attention to any little signs because often stores are tucked away up and down stairs! Some of the side streets also have some good finds so just be on the look out for anything that catches your eye. This was one of my favourite spots - highly recommend! In Tokyo - Harajuku - Personally I found Takeshita Street too busy. It was definitely worth a look but if you get anxiety in crowds it's not the best spot for you. We spent time just wondering around, getting lost which lead us to some cool stores. I'm not sure of the street name but whatever road has the opening ceremony store is definitely worth a look! Tons of great shops a long there, make sure you check some of the side alleys as well! What I assume is the 'main road' has stores worth a look too - there's a good WeGo that wasn't so busy and a massive thrift store just near the Line Friends flagship shop where you can get a bunch of bt21 goodies! Honestly just roam everywhere in this area and people watch because everyone's style is incredible!! Shibuya - Shibuya 109 is definitely worth a visit, there's some really unique stores in there and there's a lot to look at. If you're in the mood to shop you could probably spend quite a long time here! Of course there's a lot of shopping to do just in the general area as well. The Disney store there is also really beautiful. I loved Tower Records too! Both times we went there, there happened to be a performance on. Shimokitazawa - This area has a TON of vintage stores packed in, for the most part they stock fairly similar styles but it's crazy to see the quantity and quality of second hand over there! No specific recommendations, again you really just have to explore the area. Akihabara - This is where I picked up any anime merch but I'm sure if you're into anime you are already well aware of this area! Ahh I think those are the main shopping spots I'd recommend! Sorry it's a bit wordy, but hopefully it's helpful for any of you travelling to Japan soon :) ♫Music By♫ Engelwood - https://soundcloud.com/engelwoodmusic/ FTC: Not Sponsored. No affiliate links. Parisian summer street style, relaxed and colorful. Tourists' influence on Parisians.

06:05
When the daily life of Parisians crosses paths with that of the tourists...Paris is one of the most visited cities in the world. Millions of people see the “City of Light” each year. Most people visit Paris during the summer months from July through August. Nearly 2.5 million travelers in July, versus 1.75 million per month in shoulder season (April-May, September-October) and barely over a million in January or February. So, if you are visiting Paris during summer, you'll see the crowds everywhere. Tourists are noticeable in Paris. There is a distinct style difference between Parisians and tourists (0:35, 2:07, 4:46). To fit in with locals some tourists leave behind sweatpants, baseball caps, flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts, denim cut-off shorts, activewear, etc. but there are always those who want to be comfortable, and who can blame them??? There are more nuanced ways to blend into Parisian culture during those hot summer months as Parisians themselves under the sun dress a little bit more relaxed. After 9 months of cold weather, Parisians are eager to take full advantage of warm sunny days by wearing comfortable and colorful pieces. Also, thanks to Instagram and social media, which expose shoppers to everything from American brands to laid back Californian style culture, there’s a wider diversity in styles seen across Paris among Parisians. The most iconic images of the Parisian woman, in their perfectly put together neutral outfits 1:39 can still be found, but they now sit alongside women showing off their latest in floral jumpsuits 1:18 and 3:12 or a jean and a t-shirt combo 3:27.
