The 6 Stages of a Web Design Project - UX Design Principles

03:46
UX Designer Kieron Woodhouse talks through the six stages all businesses should go through when launching a new website. Designing a website can be a long process, but it doesn't have to be. It really comes down with what you want to achieve with the website. If you're just showcasing your product or service, then it doesn't need to be a large, arduous process. Whereas, if this is a key part of the service you are offering, and it's a platform you are building online, then it can be a big project so it does depend on what you are building. Step 1: The biggest key to having a successful website is to have a detailed spec. Step 2: Wireframes help you understand the content thats going to be on that page, the structure, the user flow, and how the sites going to work without the glossy finish of the design. Step 3: The look and feel is personal to the business, the brand values need to be clear otherwise the design can go completely wrong. Step 4: The development stage is simply where you make the design come to life. Step 5: There's testing to see: if a feature of the spec works, usability testing, also improving. Step 6: Launch! How to design a modern landing page - Design Time 12

WE'RE STARTING A DESIGN CLUB, COME JOIN US: http://rtweek.com/ Here's my tablet: https://amzn.to/2PmmytS Here's my camera: https://amzn.to/2vTpuG8 Hey design champions, today we are challenged to create a landing page for a Swedish watch company with photoshop. We start the process by deciding what kind of watch we will be presenting in our landing page design. After some research we start the design by sketching out a layout for our web site. After a sketch of the landing page layout is complete, we continue by editing images to act as key art on our website design. We finish the page design in adobe photoshop with a lot of image editing and color blocking to bring our landing page design together. I hope you enjoyed the process and thanks for watching! https://www.facebook.com/zimrimayfield/ http://www.zimrimayfield.com/ instagram: @zimmayfield

Web Design Tips (The Top 8 Elements to an Effective Website)

06:03
It doesn’t matter what business, market, or industry you’re in, your business needs a website. But not just any website will do. After all, your businesses website is often your customers first point of contact with your brand and is the central hub for all your digital marketing activities. It’s also a controlled and owned piece of digital real estate which makes it extra special in today’s sea of rented and borrowed attention that comes along with using social media. So why then are so many websites just so bad? And how can you make sure you’re not making the same mistakes? The sad reality is that like many other pieces of the marketing puzzle, websites seem to get pushed to the bottom of the priority list, and are only ever invested in when something breaks, or the information on them is so outdated and useless that something simple must be done. So to help you avoid this here are 7 elements to an effective website so your site can get back to doing what it was meant to do all along – make you money. Web Design Tip #1: Design Matters Web Design Tip #2: Confirm to Convert Web Design Tip #3: ONE Call-To-Action Web Design Tip #4: Simplify Your Services Web Design Tip #5: Make It Responsive Web Design Tip #6: Don’t Make Them Think Web Design Tip #6: Prove It Web Design Tip #7: A Video is Worth a Million Words Website Wrap Up At the end of the day the key to designing a successful website is remembering that it’s not about you, it’s about your customers. When you put their needs, their experience, and their desires first, and ensure you’re following the tips and guidelines we just talked about you really can’t go too far wrong. If you’re looking for help implementing these tips and strategies then I highly recommend checking out sirenconsultingfirm.com/web who specialize in everything we just talked about. ► Download your free copy of The One Page Marketing Plan Here – http://adamerhart.com/marketingplan #LINKS Website: http://adamerhart.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/adamerhart Facebook: http://facebook.com/officialadamerhart Instagram: http://instagram.com/adamerhart

Design Theory: How To Make Dynamic Compositions

14:48
How to make your motion design frames more dimensional. Create dynamic compositions with this one trick. One tip to make your designs more impactful. One simple tip for how to make your designs, photos, and illustrations better. Blind creative director, Matthew Encina, joins Chris Do in this quick tutorial/lesson on creating more dynamic compositions. To keep things simple and clearly illustrate what I mean, I’ve put together a few greyscale examples that show how adding contrast to your frames can drastically improve your compositions and effectiveness of your storytelling. If you ever find yourself stuck with a boring composition, push the contrast in the value, weight, size, and color of your subjects. Start drastically, then pull it back. One formula I like to use often is: 1 really BIG object — usually the subject, and most important element in the frame. 1–2 medium sized objects — secondary elements to give meaning to the main object. Tons of very tiny objects — tertiary elements to give movement and additional context for the frame. Top 5 Tips for New Web Designers | Web Design

03:44
Top 5 Tips for New Web Designers in 2016 Becoming a Web Designer isn't just learning Web Design principles or learning HTML Code. Getting hired as a web designer means understanding how users think and how to meet the needs of a real business. Web Designers often have a tendency to prioritize the technical parts of a web design without thinking about how their work impacts the business. Believe me when I tell you that when you are hired a web designer, the client or employer is more concerned with their cash flow than how you feel about the look or the coding... do not let romanticism kill your web design career. If website design work functions great but is unattractive and can't convince people to buy, it's function and coding doesn't matter, it failed to what was needed for your employer or client. You also shouldn't be rushing to design a website in the computer without a plan and an understanding of what the web design needs to accomplish to satisfy your employer. 07:37
Blog post: https://thrivethemes.com/flat-2-landing-pages/ Flat design may not be the hottest trend in web design, but it sure is the most durable. Basically every web design trend from the last couple of years has followed at least some of the flat design principles. In this video, you'll discover the connection between flat design and website performance (a.k.a. speed) and the underlying reason why this design language is so important. Plus, we've added a new set of landing pages to Thrive Architect, that follow a flat design style with a modern (and conversion focused) twist. Mobile in Context: Design Principles of Flow and Navigation (GDD India '17)

39:49
It’s an exciting time for the development of mobile web and app ecosystems. New technologies are advancing the experience that each can provide. Our design and development for mobile has to fit with users’ ways of working. The designs we create have to be intuitive and polished. New technologies can help us, but understanding user needs and creating inherently understandable experiences is fundamental. In this video, Jenny Gove explores some principles around navigation and flow, and looks at how incorporating user research improves mobile design. Google I/O 2014 - Design principles for a better mobile web

43:34
Speaker(s): Jennifer Gove Description: Many websites still provide a poor experience on mobile, and so we wanted to develop an in-depth understanding of what differentiates a great and an inferior mobile experience. Our work has resulted in the development of a set of user experience principles for mobile website design. The principles illustrate how to create experiences that support conversion on mobile, whether that be for a purchase, a quote or a lead. The principles have been developed out of a study that Google User Experience Research conducted in partnership with AnswerLab - a user research consultancy. We studied 100 sites with diversity across size and vertical, and held 119 in-person, one-hour usability sessions with Android and iOS smartphone users. We instructed participants to perform key conversion-focused tasks, such as purchasing an item, booking a reservation, or researching plans or prices. This presentation will illustrate key principles for designing a better mobile web. Watch all Google I/O 2014 videos at: g.co/io14videos

Principles of effective web designs

00:41
How a website looks is undoubtedly important, but another aspect that is equally or many times more important is the usability of the website. However good or attractive a website might look, if it is difficult and time-consuming to use, then the users might get distracted, thus reducing the popularity of the brand. Having a user-centric website design that caters to the consumers’ needs and requirements can be considered as the best and successful web design. for more details visit: http://www.wittycookie.com/new-york-web-design.html

TOP PRINCIPLES OF EFFECTIVE WEB DESIGN

00:51
Learn more about "WEB DESIGN" http://zenerom.com/services/web-design/ ====================================================== PURPOSE Good web design always caters to the needs of the user. Are your web visitors looking for information, entertainment, some type of interaction, or to transact with your business? Each page of your website needs to have a clear purpose, and to fulfill a specific need for your website users in the most effective way possible. COMMUNICATION People on the web tend to want information quickly, so it is important to communicate clearly, and make your information easy to read and digest. Some effective tactics to include in your web design include: organising information using headlines and sub headlines, using bullet points instead of long windy sentences, and cutting the waffle. MOBILE FRIENDLY It is now commonplace to access websites from multiple devices with multiple screen sizes, so it is important to consider if your website is mobile friendly. If your website is not mobile friendly, you can either rebuild it in a responsive layout (this means your website will adjust to different screen widths) or you can build a dedicated mobile site (a separate website optimised specifically for mobile users). TYPEFACES In general, Sans Serif fonts such as Arial and Verdana are easier to read online (Sans Serif fonts are contemporary looking fonts without decorative finishes). The ideal font size for reading easily online is 16px and stick to a maximum of 3 typefaces in a maximum of 3 point sizes to keep your design streamlined. IMAGES A picture can speak a thousand words, and choosing the right images for your website can help with brand positioning and connecting with your target audience. If you don’t have high quality professional photos on hand, consider purchasing stock photos to lift the look of your website. Also consider using infographics, videos and graphics as these can be much more effective at communicating than even the most well written piece of text. COLOURS A well thought out colour palette can go a long way to enhance the user experience. Complementary colours create balance and harmony. Using contrasting colours for the text and background will make reading easier on the eye. Vibrant colours create emotion and should be used sparingly (e.g. for buttons and call to actions). Last but not least, white space/ negative space is very effective at giving your website a modern and uncluttered look. NAVIGATION Navigation is about how easy it is for people to take action and move around your website. Some tactics for effective navigation include a logical page hierarchy, using bread crumbs, designing clickable buttons, and following the ‘three click rule’ which means users will be able to find the information they are looking for within three clicks. LOAD TIME Everybody hates a website that takes ages to load. Tips to make page load times more effective include optimising image sizes (size and scale), combining code into a central CSS or JavaScript file (this reduces HTTP requests) and minify HTML, CSS, JavaScript (compressed to speed up their load time). ====================================================== Make sure not to miss a single video, Click here to Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1XQCl-hLt-6wmnmianrSUw?view_as=subscriber ====================================================== Zenerom Creative Lab http://zenerom.com/ ======================================================
