May 28, 2015 earthquake & End of the World: California 'going into the sea' says prophet - TomoNews

02:12
ZAND, THE NETHERLANDS — A Dutch researcher who some also claim is a prophet has made a controversial prediction that a 9.8 magnitude earthquake will hit the California area at 4 p.m. local time on May 28, 2015. The nearly half hour-long video Dutch national Frank Hoogerbeets uploaded to YouTube has been viewed a surprising number of times given its dry content. Hoogerbeets' theory is based on his research into planetary alignments scheduled for the end of the month of May, which he believes will cause massive gravitational shifts that will result in earthquakes and tsunamis here on Earth. Scientists say the very idea that gravitational pulls from a distant planet could cause an earthquake on Earth is not based anywhere in the realm of fact. In fact, Phil Plait of the New Scientist told the Daily Mail that the maximum combined gravity of all the planets is still far less than the gravitational influence our moon exerts on this planet. Plait was scathing in his attack on the pseudoscience spouted by Hoogerbeets, calling it "baloney," "literally impossible" and noting that from the Earth's perspective there isn't even a planetary alignment on that date. But we shall see, as Hoogerbeets claims the famed French soothsayer Nostradamus also made a prediction for a massive earthquake on the same day as interpreted by Hoogerbeets. In any case, we recommend preparing a 9.8 earthquake survival kit as well as a device capable of helping you survive tsunamis of 300 feet or more, just in case. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Trump Says “That’s Too Bad” When He Learns That 10 U.S. Sailors Are Missing At Sea

03:10
On Sunday, the USS John McCain crashed into a merchant ship near Singapore, leaving 5 U.S. sailors seriously injured and another 10 are missing. When President Donald Trump heard the news, his response was “that’s too bad.” And I agree – it's too bad that these members of the U.S. military have such a cowardly jerk as their Commander in Chief. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.   Link – http://www.newsweek.com/trump-says-thats-too-bad-after-crash-uss-john-mccain-652584 Ring of Fire needs your help! On Sunday, the USS John McCain, named after Senator John McCain's father and grandfather, collided with a merchant ship just east of Singapore, left five sailors injured, four of whom had to be flown to Singapore for non-life threatening injuries. But 10 other US sailors, US military members, are lost. Currently there are search and recovery efforts going on but 10 sailors have not been accounted for. When Donald Trump arrived at the White House on Sunday evening, a reporter from Voice of America asked him about this particular incident, to which Donald Trump replied, "That's too bad." That's too bad. Ten American citizens, American soldiers, those military people that love to vote Republican, that Republicans love to manipulate, and say, "I'm the one that's got your back", 10 of them could be dead, and Donald Trump says, "That's too bad." Could you imagine what would have been the right wing response if either Hillary or Obama, after the Benghazi incident, said, "Oh, that's too bad." No, absolutely not. This is an unacceptable response from an unacceptable human being, who happens to be the President of the United States. I'll give him credit for this, technically the military did not announce this news until 30 minutes after Trump was asked the question, so even if he didn't know about it yet, I'm going to go ahead and make up a response on the spot. I have not been fully briefed on this situation, thoughts and prayers are with our US soldiers, we will get to the bottom of this and make sure that our soldiers are safe, because their safety is our number one priority. There you go, I did it. Didn't think about it, just popped into my head. A diplomatic, appropriate response that didn't include the words, "That's too bad." People could be dead, you idiot, and you just have to say, "That's too bad." The worst part is, we see the picture of him getting off the helicopter with his wife next to him and his young son on the other side of him. I feel this overwhelming swell of sympathy for Barron Trump. He's walking next to his father, his father being one of the worst human beings alive in the United States today, and I don't even know if that kid fully comprehends what's going on, or if he even cares or if he knows more than we do. But that is sad for that kid. It's even sadder for the members of the US military who have to call Donald Trump their Commander in Chief. When they get hurt, when they get injured, when they get lost at sea and possibly die, the only thing he has to say about it is, "That's too bad."

Abhilash Tomy says if you want to see the sea, you have to be in a sailboat.

01:55
It took Abhilash Tomy 150 days of continuous sailing in INSV Mhadei to reach the milestone. He arrived at Gateway of India Saturday, 6th April 2013 and reported completion of his voyage to President Pranab Mukherjee, the supreme commander of the armed forces, who watched the sailor touch shore from an Air Force helicopter and later felicitated him. Tomy is the second Indian to circumnavigate the globe after Commander Dilip Donde, his mentor who achieved the feat in 2010. In all, 80 people across the world have completed this voyage. Tomy, in fact, thanked Donde, along with Mohammed Alam and Ratnakar Dandekar who helped build INSV Mhadei, for his maritime feat. South China Sea: the Navy’s top officer says the US and China will ‘meet more and more on high seas’

10:45
Chief of US Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson said on Tuesday the US and China “will meet each other more and more on the high seas” after a Chinese warship came close to a US ship in the disputed South China Sea. The Chinese vessel came within 45 yards of the USS Decatur during a “freedom of navigation” sail in late September, US Vice President Mike Pence said this month. The US mission was the latest attempt to counter what Washington sees as Beijing’s efforts to limit freedom of navigation in the strategic waters, where Chinese, Japanese, and some Southeast Asian navies operate. In the weeks since, a US Navy research ship has visited Taiwan and two US warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait. China considers Taiwan a breakaway province and has bolstered its presence around the island country. In mid-October, during a meeting with his Japanese and South Korean counterparts, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said the US and its partners in the region would “continue to fly, sail, and operate wherever international law allows and our national interests demand.”

Write a comment! :D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Subnautica: Subnautica is an open world survival game in development by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. Subnautica allows the player to explore an aquatic alien planet by scuba diving and traveling in , while collecting resources and food to survive. It was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014. The Xbox release was in August 2016. The player controls in first-person view the lone survivor of a crashed ship on an aquatic planet. The main objective of the player is to explore the open world environment and survive the dangers of the planet, while also continuing the story. Subnautica allows the player to collect resources, construct tools, bases, and submersibles, and interact with the planet's wildlife. Players must keep themselves adequately hydrated and fed, and must also maintain their oxygen supply while traversing underwater. The game also includes a day and night cycle. Subnautica was first announced by Unknown Worlds Entertainment on December 17, 2013, with Charlie Cleveland as the game director and lead gameplay programmer, and Hugh Jeremy as the producer. The development team opted to use the Unity engine rather than Spark, the engine used for the company's previous game, Natural Selection 2. Subnautica producer Hugh Jeremy justified this decision because of the different demands that the game places on the engine, and "because [the team] does not include people working on Spark, it's not appropriate for Subnautica to use Spark. By using Unity for Subnautica, Spark can continue to develop in certain directions, while Subnautica develops in others. To use Spark for Subnautica would be to try and square peg a round hole." The development team also opted against the inclusion of lethal weapons in the game. Charlie Cleveland, the game's director, described Subnautica as "one vote towards a world with less guns," and had felt inspired by real life gun violence, including the Sandy Hook shooting, to encourage players to think about "non-violent and more creative solutions to solve our problems." Subnautica was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014. Subnautica was originally planned to be released on Xbox One on April 1, 2016, but was ultimately delayed by another month. Full V1.0 release is planned for September 2017.

Egypt's Military Says EgyptAir Flight Debris Has Been Found At Sea

00:52
The Egyptian military says it found debris from the EgyptAir flight that officials believe crashed Thursday.  Flight MS804 was flying from Paris to Cairo with 66 people on board when it disappeared from the radar shortly after entering Egyptian airspace.  Hours after the jet went missing, EgyptAir posted a statement saying wreckage had been found near Greece's Crete island, but the airline later said that debris wasn't related to MS804. As for the debris found Friday morning, Egypt's military said search teams found wreckage, along with passengers' belongings, about 180 miles north of the Egyptian city of Alexandria. The cause of the crash is still unknown, but Egypt's aviation minister said Thursday he suspects it was a terrorist attack rather than technical problems. EgyptAir continued normal flights throughout Thursday and into Friday, including at least one flight to Paris. Ian Brady's ashes were disposed at sea says victim's brother - Daily Mail

01:24
Britain's most notorious serial killer reportedly demanded to have his remains scattered on Saddleworth Moor - where he buried child victims with lover Myra Hindley. Brady (left) died of cancer and emphysema at a secure mental health hospital in May this year - and his body was kept in cold storage as the High Court stepped in to stop his dying wish. After five months Brady's body was finally collected from the morgue at Royal Liverpool Hospital at around 9pm on October 25. It was taken to Southport Crematorium under heavy police escort before the cremation began at 10pm. His ashes were then driven to Liverpool Marina and dispatched at sea at a secret location at 2.30am the following day. Terry West, the brother of ten-year-old victim Lesley-Ann Downey, said today : 'My little sister didn't get to choose how she was buried. If I had my way, I would just flush his ashes down the toilet.' Inset, file photo of a Himalayan rock salt urn; right, police on Saddleworth Moor. Italy: Lavrov says Sea of Azov issue used as 'pretext' to pressure Russia

Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe The situation in the Sea of Azov is likely being used by Russia's 'European colleagues' as a pretext to put pressure on Russia, the country's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a joint press conference with his Italian counterpart Enzo Moavero Milanesi in Rome on Friday. Earlier in the week, the EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini commented on the inspection by Russia of Ukrainian ships in the Sea of Azov. Lavrov said that Russia had been forced to increase its military and security presence in the area following threats from Ukraine to blow up the Crimean Bridge over the Kerch Strait. NSA leaker's girlfriend Lindsay Mills says she's "lost at sea without a compass" (June 12, 2013)

02:42
The girlfriend of self-avowed National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden wrote that she was "adrift in a sea of chaos" after he spilled government secrets and decamped to Hong Kong. In a post on her blog, Lindsay Mills -- who described herself as a "pole-dancing superhero" -- said she was typing on a "tear-streaked keyboard." "For those of you that know me without my super hero cape, you can probably understand why I'll be refraining from blog posts for awhile. My world has opened and closed all at once. Leaving me lost at sea without a compass," she wrote Monday, a day after American and British newspapers published Snowden's identity as the source behind their reports on the U.S. surveillance programs. Lindsay Mills: "I have lost my compass and find myself adrift in a sea of chaos." "Surely there will be villainous pirates, distracting mermaids, and tides of change in this new open water chapter of my journey. But at the moment all I can feel is alone. And for the first time in my life I feel strong enough to be on my own. Though I never imagined my hand would be so forced." The same day, on the photo-sharing website Flickr, Mills wrote, "I have lost my compass and find myself adrift in a sea of chaos. Goodbye my friends. I'll see you when the waves calmly set my vessel back on dry land." Her blog has since been taken down. Snowden, 29, touched off a Washington firestorm when he leaked classified documents that revealed the scope of the NSA's collection of telephone and Internet data. There is no evidence that Mills knew of Snowden's actions. Her father spoke to reporters Tuesday outside his home in Laurel, Maryland. He described Snowden as "nice, shy, reserved." His daughter and Snowden dated for four to five years. "He's always had strong convictions of right and wrong, and it kind of makes sense, but (I'm) still shocked," Jonathan Mills said. He wished Snowden good luck: "He's got my love." Snowden told the British newspaper the Guardian, one of the two outlets that broke stories on the programs last week, that he left his job with an NSA contractor in Hawaii without telling either his family or Mills. "My family does not know what is happening," he said. "My primary fear is that they will come after my family, my friends, my partner. Anyone I have a relationship with ... I will have to live with that for the rest of my life." http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/11/us/nsa-snowden-girlfriend/index.html

Floating is better than swimming for sea survival, says RNLI

01:39
New figures released today show 162 people lost their lives on UK coasts in the last year, with adult men accounting for 74% of deaths and 77% over the past five years. • Only 3% of Brits know how to react if they unexpectedly fall into cold water • 40% would follow a potentially life-threatening instinct of immediately trying to swim • Coastal fatality figures released today show that 162 people lost their lives on UK coasts in 2016 We’re told to trust our instincts but today the RNLI is calling on the public to fight their instincts should they get into trouble in UK waters and, instead, remember one simple skill – floating. Sudden immersion in water any temperature below 15C puts people at severe risk of cold water shock. This triggers the instinctive but life-threatening reaction to gasp uncontrollably, thrash about and try to swim hard. This reaction is the worst thing to do and can quickly lead to drowning as it increases the chance of water entering the lungs, increases strain on the heart, cools the skin and reduces buoyancy by letting air escape from clothing. The RNLI’s advice is to float for around 60-to-90 seconds – the time it takes for the effects of the cold shock to pass and for you to regain control of your breathing. The recommended floating position is to lean back in the water and keep your airway clear while keeping calm to maintain breathing levels. You should then be in a better position to attempt to swim to safety or call for help. Only 3% of respondents in the RNLI’s research cited floating as the first action they would take if they fell in to cold water unexpectedly. 40% of respondents said their immediate reaction would be to swim, while 2% said they would panic – two of the instinctive responses the RNLI is urging people to fight. Others said they would remove clothing (4%); do nothing (3%); hold their breath (1%), and 4% said they would not know what to do. Coastal fatality figures released today by the RNLI show 162 people lost their lives at the UK coast in the last year alone, with adult men accounting for 74% of deaths and 77% over the past five years. With the charity’s national drowning campaign Respect the Water now entering its fourth year, this year the RNLI are calling on the public to fight their instincts. RNLI Coastal Safety Manager Ross Macleod says: ‘Through our Respect the Water campaign, we want to start a national conversation about water safety. We’re asking the public to remember this lifesaving advice, share with others and practice the survival skill of floating – it could be the difference between life and death. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : • The fatality figures quoted are for water-related fatalities from accidents and natural causes in UK tidal waters. The figures for 2012–2016 are: 163, 167, 163, 168 and 162. • In 2016, swimming, jumping in and general leisure use of the water accounted for 25% (40) of the deaths, walking and running 20% (32); commercial use of the water 16% (26); sailing and boating 10% (17). Unknown activity was 16% (26). WEBLINKS: www.respectthewater.com #RespecttheWater

Italy's coast guard says eight migrants die at sea

01:43
The Italian coast guard recovered the bodies of eight people as it rescued a further 84 from a dinghy that ran into trouble off Libya's coast, it said on Saturday (January 6). The coast guard said the migrants had been spotted in the morning by a plane patrolling the sea. Dramatic video released by the agency showed the moment that migrants were pulled from the water to safety. Hundreds of thousands of migrants have fled conflict or poverty at home and are now trapped in Libya, where they had hoped to pay people smugglers for passage to Europe via Italy. In late December the United Nations began bringing African refugees to Italy from Libya, evacuating them from detention centres whose conditions have been condemned by humanitarian groups as inhumane.

US and Israel will drown in the ocean, because "Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine" – animation by Abbas’ Fatah Text and video posted on the official Fatah Facebook page Posted text: “#Jerusalem. is an Arabic & Islamic city, what ever you claim Mr. #Trump !!” The video shows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump floating on a white raft in the middle of the sea, with a sign on which is written in Hebrew, Arabic, and English: "US Embassy," and Israeli and American flags. He is holding a paper on which is written in English: “Jerusalem capital of Israel,” and is heard saying “and Jerusalem is Israel's capital.” Immediately after his declaration, the raft breaks in two, and Trump drowns together with the Israeli flag. Netanyahu jumps into the water as well and disappears. The sign flips, and the reverse side of it reads in English and Arabic: "Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine." A ship flying the UN flag and the flags of a number of countries including Ireland, Turkey, Lebanon, and other Arab countries then pulls up to stop by the raft. On the ship an elderly woman wearing a Palestinian flag and a younger woman dressed in black, meant to represent Ahed Tamimi, are seen waving. This video was posted by Abbas’ Fatah Movement on Facebook on the day the US embassy opened in Jerusalem. US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and instructed the State Department to begin preparations to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Trump added that the final borders of Jerusalem will be determined during negotiations. The US embassy opened in Jerusalem on May 14, 2018, the anniversary of Israel's declaration of independence in 1948 according to the Gregorian calendar. The young woman seen at the end of the video is Ahed Tamimi: Ahed Tamimi – Teenage female Palestinian who attacked Israeli soldiers on Dec. 15, 2017, near the village of Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah, together with her 21-year-old female cousin, Nour Tamimi, and her mother, Nariman. Ahed was later arrested and charged with several counts, including aggravated assault, hindering a soldier in the line of duty, incitement, and rock throwing. After her arrest, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called her father Bassem Tamimi to praise her and her family's participation in "peaceful" protests. Ahed Tamimi has a history of assaulting Israeli soldiers. [Official Fatah Facebook page, May 14, 2018]

What a stranded ship in South China Sea says about China-Philippine ties

What a stranded ship in South China Sea says about China-Philippine ties SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Philippine navy frigate, the BRP Gregorio del Pilar, ran aground on Half Moon Shoal in waters off the disputed Spratly Islands on August 29. The frigate is one of the three ships the Philippines armed forces acquired from the US coastguard, and are currently the largest warships owned by the Philippines. Half Moon Shoal lies about 110km (68 miles) from the southern tip of the western Philippine island of Palawan and south of the disputed Second Thomas Shoal, where a Philippine navy transport ship was intentionally grounded in 1999 and has since served as a military outpost for the country.  Philippine defence officials notified the Chinese government after the accidental grounding, but rejected China’s offer of assistance. Philippine military officials talked about “ongoing coordination” with the US for assistance to recover the stranded warship. Four Philippine navy and coastguard ships were reportedly deployed to secure the BRP Gregorio del Pilar and provide food and other supplies to its sailors. According to a Philippines military spokesman, two commercial tugboats were hired to extricate the ship and tow it to a Philippine port for repairs on September 3. US will be ‘good ally’ to Philippines if China invades, official says The ship was retrieved much more quickly than many international and regional analysts thought it would be. China was very wary about a recurrence of the 1999 grounding of the Philippine navy transport ship that effectively allowed the Filipinos to “occupy” Second Thomas Shoal. The United States worried that the Chinese offer to help extricating the frigate would turn out to be a “diplomatic victory”, in favour of China’s “public common good” narrative, justifying its construction of islands and facility deployment on the features it occupies in the South China Sea. The Philippines was concerned that allowing China to lead the rescue mis... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

South China Sea disputes: China’s land reclamation in the Spratlys grows, says Pentagon - TomoNews

01:21
BEIJING — A new Pentagon report released on Thursday says that China’s reclamation efforts in the Spratly Islands has grown dramatically over the last few months, and at a rate far faster than earlier this year. Previous estimates that China has reclaimed 2,000 acres since December 2013 are wrong, the Pentagon report says, and the real amount is around 2,900 acres. According to the Pentagon, China has reclaimed more land in the past 20 months than the other claimants combined over the past 40 years. China said in early August that it has halted its reclamation efforts in the island chain, although many countries question these claims. On Fiery Cross Reef, China has built an airstrip that the country could use as an alternative to an aircraft carrier. Reuters reports that the 3,000-metre-long runway will most likely be operational by the end of this year. At many of the reclamation sites in the Spratlys, China has also built channels and berthing areas for large ships. The new Pentagon report, titled “The Asia-Pacific Maritime Security Strategy,” was required by Congress ahead of a 2015 defense bill. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
