How to Make a Partition on Windows 7

2247 ratings | 628777 views
If you were a previous user of Windows Vista, this video shouldn't be hard for you to follow, but instead, rather reminding you of what you had learn in Microsoft's previous O.S. I will show you how to make a partition on Windows 7. "Choosing how much space you want just take 1024 and multiply by how many gigs you want. 50 would be 51200 not 50024." -evanzsayz _________________________________________________ Website: http://www.wix.com/microhelper/1 _________________________________________________ If you want to delete a partition that you mistakenly created with the wrong amount of memory. I got a warning popup "the operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed OS from any volume on the disk (except current boot volume). Are you sure want to continue." What should i do ....??

HOLD UP EVERYONE!!! What this video DOESN'T tell you is that it supposedly depends on which version of Windows 7 you have!! I have Windows 7 64 bit, Pro and I was left with a total wasted void of unallocated space(i.e. not my desired partition!) Luckily, you can easily move the unallocated space right back to your C: drive. *****Click here, it's literally 3 steps(the last one offered on page) >>> https://askleo.com/how_do_i_use_an_unallocated_space_partition_in_windows_7/comment-page-2/#comment-449643 Allan, PLEASE EDIT YOUR VIDEO TO SAVE PEOPLE FROM CLICKING "OK" ON FINAL STEP....THEY WILL BE STUCK WITH A DYNAMIC DRIVE!!

hey, I made a partition on my win7 but after making a partition when I right click on the unallocated space and doing those stuff shown in video at last when I click on finish it shows "you cannot create a new volume in this unallocated space because disk is already contains the maximum number of partition "
Buck CP (1 year ago)
Hey man, I had same problem.....go here and follow his last step(of 2, I think). It will move your unallocated space right back to original drive....instead of making it USELESS! https://askleo.com/how_do_i_use_an_unallocated_space_partition_in_windows_7/comment-page-2/#comment-449643 Supposedly, the version of Windows 7 makes a difference so having Windows 7, 64 bit, Pro....I got same result as you! Cheers

Are you serious? 50 GB is 50024 MB??? Dude 1 GB is 1024 MB so 50 GB is 50x1024 = 51200 MB. Thanks for the video but I won't give my trust to someone who can't do basic math...
Carlos Pinto (4 months ago)
+duhawma How stupid do you have to be to say that? He is pointing out that 50 GB are 50 X 1 GB and if 1 GB is 1024 MB then 50 GB are 50 X 1024 MB which is 51200 MB. Not knowing that and claiming 50 GB are 50024 MB in a tutorial video is ridiculous. It shows the youtuber knows nothing about the subject...supposing he is not actually stupid. BTW, if you follow what the youtuber said you will have 48.8 GB instead of 50.
Carlos Pinto (4 months ago)
Hey man, after seeing the others people response to your comment I just want to say that there is smart people in this world who understand what you pointed out and know how ridiculous was his mistake. A bit sad to see so many idiots in this small thread though...
duhawma (7 months ago)
We don't trust you either! lol
Anshul Vairagade (8 months ago)
Lol it's not about mathematics class, it's about how to do partition and I think he teach is well.
kavasr (2 years ago)
+The Angry Seal yeah, he probably knows it from another tutorial video... If he was an expert in IT he wouldn't do math like my 10 years old cousin.
Junior Painkiller (2 years ago)
I have about 50 GB free space left on my hdd, but when I click "shrink volume" it says i have only 250MB shrink space. What's the problem?
Stomp E (2 years ago)
+Playing The Angel I think it's because of the way windows saves data in its OS partition, it saves some data twords the end of the partition. I think, but not sure, that if you open it up with defraggler the lights show the data and where it's stored on the partition. Also if you found out a way around this i'd like to know. I still can't shrink the partition my OS is on
Rock&Roll (2 years ago)
Math is wrong 1024mb=1gb, 1024 x 20gb=20480, 1024 x 50gb=51200, 1024x 100=102400.
